Avian Influenza Outbreak: Our Commitment to Safety

As pet parents and responsible manufacturers, we're deeply concerned about the recent Avian Influenza outbreak in the United States. We understand your worries and want to assure you that we're taking proactive measures to ensure the safety of our products.

Staying Informed and Proactive

We're closely monitoring updates from the CDC, USDA, and FDA, and collaborating with our suppliers to implement enhanced safety protocols. Our suppliers have robust plans in place to guarantee the safest possible ingredients.

Our Comprehensive Safety Program

At Texas Tripe, we adhere to a rigorous food safety and quality assurance program, built on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and HACCP certification. Our team has established multiple preventative controls throughout production and maintains a vigilant monitoring program to ensure food safety.

Supplier Quality Control

We only work with USDA-certified suppliers who provide Letters of Safety Guarantee. Their facilities are subject to regular inspections, and all raw ingredients are tested before shipment. Upon arrival, our team conducts thorough inspections, verifying temperature control (below 32°F) to guarantee quality and safety.

Preventing Cross-Contamination: Our Proven Approach

At Texas Tripe, we prioritize preventing cross-contamination to ensure the highest quality and safety of our products. Our simple yet effective approach is to avoid running different proteins on the same day.

Production Planning

To minimize the risk of cross-contamination, we carefully plan our production schedule:

We don't run different proteins back-to-back. For example, if we produce Beef Blend in the morning, we'll follow it with another beef-based product, like Wolf Run or Shepherd's Blend. - This approach applies to all proteins we carry, including turkey, pork, chicken, and fish.

Exceptional Cases

In rare cases where we need to produce blends with different proteins, we take extra precautions:

If we're producing a blend that contains a protein already used in a previous product (e.g., pork in Chicken Pork Salmon with Eggs), we'll prioritize the product with the shared protein to minimize cross-contamination risks. Example: We would run Pork Blend first, and since its the same pork that goes into the Chicken Pork Salmon with Eggs we can safely run that without cross contamination.

Zero Compromise Policy

We will never compromise on our cross-contamination prevention measures, even if it means temporarily stockouts:

Running different proteins on the same day would require a thorough 3-hour cleaning and sanitizing process, involving a team of 7 people. This is not a feasible or acceptable solution for us. Example: If we were out of Beef Blend and Chicken Blend. Then the highest selling product would be made. In this case it would be the Beef Blend. The Chicken Blend would have to wait for the next production day.

Ensuring the Safety of Our Raw Frozen Products

We utilize High-Pressure Processing (HPP) technology to guarantee the safety of our raw frozen products for your pets. This non-thermal method has been scientifically proven to inactivate microorganisms, including viruses, while preserving the nutritional integrity of the food.

Research has consistently shown that HPP is effective in mitigating pathogens, including avian influenza*. Our specific processing conditions are designed to inactivate viruses, ensuring the highest level of safety for your pets.
